Neurotoxins, such as Xeomin®, are prescription medications that block the release of chemicals that cause these muscle contractions so frown lines are softened. Xeomin® is made through a unique precision manufacturing process that isolates the therapeutic component of the molecule and removes the accessory proteins that don’t play an active role in treatment. Xeomin® is a highly purified neurotoxin. Studies have not been performed to determine whether the presence or absence of accessory proteins has a long-term effect on safety or efficacy.
What is Xeomin®?
Designed to relax muscles, much like Botox, Xeomin® is a pure-form injectable that contains just one ingredient: botulinum toxin A. We inject Xeomin® into facial muscles, causing them to relax. The contraction of muscles is what causes wrinkles, the lines on our faces.
Xeomin®—How it Works
Xeomin® is injected into the tense muscles that cause frown lines, between our eyebrows. Xeomin® blocks some of the transmitters in these muscles, preventing them from contracting and causing them to relax.

Is Xeomin® painful?
No! We use an extremely small needle, and its prick is slight. There is no need for anesthesia since the entire process is almost painless. Our patients remain awake during treatment.
How long do these procedures take and how long do they last?
Xeomin® treatments require just one office visit that lasts 15-30 minutes. It takes about 4 days to see the results, and the effects of Xeomin® usually last 3-4 months.
