Botox Cosmetic in Eugene, Florence, & Roseburg, OR

Our CERTIFIED DERMATOLOGY NURSE, Shelbey Keller, LPN at Revive Skin Health and Wellness is proud to offer BOTOX, a proven and revolutionary approach to smoothing wrinkles.

What is BOTOX?

It’s the first and only treatment FDA-approved to temporarily make moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines look better in adults. Botox is a muscle relaxer that comes in the form of a purified protein and is traditionally injected into facial muscles, causing them to relax rather than contract. Muscle contractions are what cause the lines, or wrinkles, on our faces. Botox has been on the market for decades, and we have been successfully treating patients with Botox since 2017.

BOTOX—The Process

A quick 10-minute treatment with minimal downtime

Botox is injected into muscles that tense up. BOTOX blocks some of the transmitters in the muscles, preventing them from contracting and essentially causing them to relax.

Why choose a certified dermatology RN for BOTOX?

Certified dermatology nurse, Jen Rogers, has had more advanced training in injections.  With her history of working in Plastic Surgery, then in Mohs micrographic surgery, she has seen first-hand the intricate layers of what is under the skin. This is important to know where the muscle origins and insertions are to truly understand how to inject Botox properly.  Jen loves education, and attends conferences or trainings any chance she can, keeping her up to date on the newest techniques.

Is BOTOX painful?

The needle that is used to inject BOTOX is extremely small, and its sting is minimal. The entire process is almost painless, so no anesthesia is needed, and our patients are usually awake during treatment.

How long do treatments take and how long do they last?

BOTOX treatments require just one office visit that lasts 10-20 minutes. It takes about 3 days to see the results, and the effects of BOTOX usually last 3-4 months.

How long do I have to wait to get a facial or massage after receiving Botox (or other neuromodulators)?

We recommend waiting at least
24 to 48 hours after your neuromodulator treatment (e.g., Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, or Daxxify®) before getting a facial, massage, or any treatment that involves pressure on the face or head.
This precaution helps prevent the product from moving from the intended injection site, which could affect your results.
If you’re planning other treatments, it’s always a good idea to schedule your Botox appointment a few days in advance to avoid any conflicts.

Can I go to my workout class later the same day after getting Botox?

It’s best to
avoid exercise for at least 24 hours after receiving Botox® or other neuromodulators (like Dysport®, Xeomin®, or Daxxify®).
Physical activity increases blood flow and body temperature, which can potentially cause the product to migrate from the injection site and affect your results. Sweating may also irritate the injection sites and increase the risk of bruising.
To ensure the best outcome, we recommend waiting until the next day to resume your workout routine.
